With driving safety a major concern of most people, it’s no wonder Webster’s Dictionary chose ‘distracted driver’ as its new Word of the Year.

The distracted driving problem is so big, Oprah started a No Phone Zone Pledge.

Distracted drivers are a hazard on any street but especially in school zones, where speed limits are reduced to protect little ones walking to and from school. Photo enforcement plays a crucial role in slowing drivers and getting them to obey the posted speed limit.

Safe Kids USA conducted a recent study that suggests 1 in every 6 drivers near schools is distracted. Researchers found a variety of activities—chatting on cell phones, grooming, drinking, eating, smoking and even reading—keep drivers from focusing around school zones. Distracted Drivers Report
